Osteoarthritis (OA) is a joint disease that mostly affects older adults. It is caused by the breakdown of cartilage, the smooth tissue that covers the ends of bones in a joint. When cartilage wears away, bones begin to rub against each other, which causes pain, swelling, and difficulty in moving
